In 1989, when John and Cathy Cranney founded Rawhide outfitters, their goal was to provide hunters first-class, family oriented hunts in the beautiful mountains surrounding Salmon, Idaho. Their bookings speak for themselves where clients return year after year and tell their friends. Their sons, Justin and Luke have inherited the hard work gene, and together, the Cranney family works tirelessly for every client they book.
This is an early October rifle hunt in Idaho’s unit 29 (Lemhi Zone). These coveted permits are difficult to draw but are guaranteed for the winner of this hunt through Rawhide’s outfitter draw allocation. Hunt winner should expect to see lots of elk and have an opportunity to harvest a good representative bull of this area. Better bulls in this part of Idaho typically range from 270” to 310” with an occasional 330”+ bull being found. Access is primarily via 4 wheel drive vehicle and then on foot but Rawhide Outfitters has excellent riding and pack stock as well and will utilize the best method available to get their hunters into the elk.
Winner is responsible for travel to Salmon, ID, hunt license ($154.75), Elk tag ($416.75), 6% tax, and gratuities.
